Getting started

1. Open IPTV Backseat and tap + on Home.
2. Choose M3U, Jellyfin, Emby, Xtream or Plex, then paste your link or sign in.
3. Pick a channel or film. Add titles to the trip queue with a swipe.

Common questions

Does Backseat include channels or films?

No. Backseat is a player. Add playlists or servers you already have the right to watch.

Why can't I see video on my car's CarPlay screen?

CarPlay doesn't play video from apps. Cars that support AirPlay video can show it while parked — tap the AirPlay button in the player and choose the car.

How do I add the widgets to CarPlay?

On iOS 26, open the Widgets page on the car screen, tap Edit and add “Next on the road” or “Trip clock” from Backseat. Settings › Widgets in CarPlay shows a preview.

A file won't play.

MKV and AVI files play when they come from Jellyfin, Emby or Plex, which convert them. Direct MKV links can't be opened by the iOS video player.

“Wrong username or password” for Xtream.

Check the details with your provider, then open Settings › Manage Sources and edit the source.

Is my password safe?

It stays in the iOS Keychain on your iPhone and is only sent to the server you entered.

How do I change the language?

Settings › Language. Backseat speaks English, Vietnamese, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese.
